The first pedalled
bicycle was invented by Kirkpatrick Macmillan from Thornhill, Dumfries
and Galloway in 1839. Dumfries and Galloway is not only significantly
historical in terms of cycling, but is also perfect for any cyclist
to escape busy crowds and roads. The area has many dedicated cycle
paths and the National Cycle Network runs through the region. |
